Bioasphalt is an asphalt alternative made from renewable sources such as sugar, molasses, rice, corn and potato starch, natural tree and gum resins, natural latex rubber and vegetable oils, lignin, cellulose, palm oil waste, coconut waste, peanut oil waste, canola oil waste, dried sewerage effluent etc, so statement 2 is not valid. With the increase in oil price increases since 2003, so the peak oil, pollution and climate change and non-petroleum alternatives gained popularity which made to begining of biobitumen alternatives which are environmentally friendly and nontoxic.
