Correct Answer: 1 only ​. Statement 1 : In Pradeep Jain v. Union of India, the Supreme Court has held that in India, Article 5 recognizes only one domicile viz., domicile of India.  Statement 2: Article 58 (1) (a) mentions that an individual should be a citizen of India to be eligible for contesting the office of the ‘Head of State’, i.e President. In Comparison, the US Constitution specifically states that only individuals who are US Citizens by Birth can become the Head of the State.  Statement 3: 3 ways - Renunciation, Termination and Deprivation - has been prescribed in the Citizenship Act, 1955 for losing citizenship of a citizen whether acquired under the act or prior to it under the constitution. The Citizenship Amendment Act of 2019 has further elaborated on the ground of termination of Indian citizenship.
